This commercial was produced for SAFE Federal Credit Union to promote their Springs Auto Loan offers. SAFE wanted to produce something appealing and effective, but with a shelf life that allowed it to be used for a year or more. The result is an automotive spot that steers a complete 180 from typical spots which feature an automobile so prominently. Thanks to The Big Mo in Monetta, SC for letting us shoot the commercial there during the week (when they are usually closed).

Genesis just completed production on an exciting new commercial for EdVenture’s Spark Your Imagination campaign. We violated one of the old adages about production that you may have heard before: “never work with kids or animals.” Well, there were no animals on this project, but there were A LOT of kids–and their parents. A total of almost 80 people functioning as featured actors, featured extras, and background. Add to that the fact that this spot would be loaded with special effects and had a limited budget, and we were asking for trouble. We suspected as much that morning when we learned that our makeup specialist was not going to be able to come because of a sick child at home.

So… we started an hour late after locating a new makeup specialist yet we got every shot we needed and still finished on time. The kids and their families were great to work with and the special effects were the icing on top in post. All in all, we had a blast and the project was a resounding success.

Stay tuned for a Digital Onion Making Of video about the process.

Genesis just wrapped production for three new spots for Newberry County Memorial Hospital in conjunction with Lux & Associates. Production took place over two days on location and featured some always-fun elements: shooting in their largest operating room in full scrubs (we looked very “surgical” if we do say so ourselves) and shooting in a closed wing of the hospital. The closed wing will be undergoing renovation soon and provided the perfect isolated setting that allowed for us to get the shots we needed without interruption and without impacting any important patient services. The spots are scheduled to premiere this fall.

Many veterans need assistance applying for various benefits, drafting legal documents and wills, as well as legal counsel for court cases. Helping those who served selflessly and honorably for our country is a noble and worthy cause for the ABA and Genesis was pleased to work with them on this project.

In addition to producing a 6-minute overview video featuring project information as well as interviews with program coordinators and veterans, Genesis also developed a Project Salute logo, authored a video/data DVD for potential participants, and designed and produced a DVD eco-wallet package for distribution.
